Newsletter No 28 | January 2022

Hello,

How are you this new year 2022?

I hope you and your family have been keeping safe.

I took a “break” to visit my children over the holidays. I put break in quotes because even while I was away, I continued to work remotely.
This new year started with news of deaths of some very important personalities in Oyo State. First, it was the passing of our father, His Imperial Majesty, Ọba Sálíù Àkànmú Ọlásùpò Adétúnjí, Ajé Ògúngúnnísò 1, Olúbàdàn of Ìbàdàn aged 93.

And then yesterday, I was at the venue of the Oyo State 2022 Inter-Faith Service to Usher in the New Year when I received news of the passing of our former Governor, His Excellency, Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala aged 71.
My initial plan was to share my latest reading with you. But I’m going to save that for my next newsletter.

Today, we mourn.

This morning, I visited Otunba Alao-Akala’s family in Ogbomoso. I was really looking forward to having him flag off the Iseyin-Ogbomoso Road. In fact, I had contacted him a few days ago for this very purpose and he had accepted the invitation.

I know that former Governor Alao-Akala loved the people of Oyo State. And so, I choose to remember him as a leader who did his best to serve the good people of Oyo State. I pray that God grants his friends and loved ones the fortitude to bear this great loss.

Talk to you again Soon
