Newsletter No 56 | February 2023
Hello,
How are you? And how is your weekend going?
I am doing fine. As promised, I took a break from the campaign trail to address salient issues in Oyo State, including the protests about Naira and fuel scarcity of February 3, 2023. I want to thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that you did not resort to further violence in making your demands known.
I must say that I am happy with how the palliatives have been working so far. If you are in Ibadan, have you boarded any Omituntun Buses? What was your experience like on the free service? Please respond to this email and let me know. We are working on improving the service to make it more regular and even increasing the routes to give more people the opportunity to benefit from it.

Let me restate our commitment to keeping Oyo State secure for all residents. Please, use your PVC, not violence if you are discontent with the status quo. You can also use your PVC to reward good governance by re-electing those who have served you well. The elections are just about two weeks and a month away, respectively. Vote wisely.
Having monitored the situation actively for the past week and held various security meetings with the relevant agencies, I am assured that it is okay for campaign activities to resume. Therefore, I am sending this newsletter to inform you that starting Monday, February 13, 2023, I will board the “campaign train” to return to the trail again.
Our usual interactions on the campaign trail will provide further opportunities to reach our people directly to reinforce the message of peace. It will also allow me to monitor the distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable at the Local Government level.
As I have promised the people of Oyo State on various occasions, we will continue to serve you until the last day of this tenure. And if that means pausing politicking to carry out governance activities, then so be it.
Before I go today, I have a question for you: Have you read our Oyo State Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2023-2027? If you have not, here is an opportunity for you to do so. You can download the roadmap here.
Also, please write to me and let me know what you think. Which section are you excited about? I cannot wait to begin to implement our plans for Omituntun 2.0. Putting our roadmap out there means that we are ready, once again, to be held accountable by our people.
Talk to you again soon
We’re sharing behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and testimonials all month.
