On 15 April 2025, the government commenced another round of tractorisation subsidy and as at 12 May 2025, one thousand five hundred and twenty-six (1,526) farmers have subscribed and paid their 50% counterpart fund and 6,587 acres of land have been ploughed. Other Achievements:
- Soil Testing in 100 communities which has provided soil fertility status of 100 communities in the 28 Agrarian Local Government Areas across the State and training of 22,370 farmers on how to respond to soil challenge.
- Approval of N570,775,722 by the Oyo State Executive Council for Farm Services Centers in 9 Agricultural Zones to create one-stop shops for agricultural inputs across the zones; enhance dissemination of modern farming techniques and technology, establish market connections for smallholder farmers and more.
- Free Vaccination of animals in the State. A total of 2,714 ruminant animals received the Tetanus vaccine, 3,789 dogs were given the ARV vaccine, 747 animals were given the DHLPP vaccine, and 1,217,653 birds received Fowl Pox, Gumboro, and Newcastle vaccines. 95,948 cattle were given CBPP; 95,948 ruminants were given Anthrax vaccines and 74,525 small ruminants received PPR vaccines.
- Meat Inspection: A total of 3,731,526 cattle, 10,322,469 sheep and Goats, 9,590, and 16,082,353 birds were inspected for human consumption.
- Key agricultural initiatives include the SAfER inputs distribution for smallholder farmers, the World Bank-supported Oyo State NG-CARES programme.
- Commencement of the Oyo State Livestock and Productivity Resilience Support Project (L-PRES). L-PRES is a World Bank-assisted 6 Year Project with Development Objective (PDO) to improve livestock productivity, resilience and commercialisation of selected value chains and to strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to respond to an eligible crisis or emergency. So far, 250 extension officers and 150 livestock entrepreneurs have received training. The establishment of a livestock centre at the Oyo State Agribusiness Transformation Centre, Fasola has been secured.

Other achievements:
1. Increase in Number of Visitors to Oyo State:
Since 2019, the number of visitors to Oyo State has increased exponentially from 1,604 per day to 18,459 per day as of December 2024. This has been as a result of the progress being made in Oyo State under His Excellency’s leadership thus positioning the State as the go-to destination for rest and relaxation to get away from the hustle and bustle of neighbouring Lagos State.
This increase in the number of visitors is contributing to the economy of State as visitors patronise local businesses during their visit and stay in Oyo State
2. Increase in Hospitality Businesses in Oyo State:
There has been a huge increase in the number of hospitality businesses in Oyo State since 2019 to cater to the influx of visitors to the State.
The number of hotels has increased from 945 in 2019 to 4,678 as of December 2024. Night clubs have increased from 78 to 1,898 while event centres increased from 146 to 1,996. Similarly, eateries/restaurants increased from 66 to 1,852 while tour agencies increased from 96 to 1,704.
This increase is contributing to the growth of the State’s economy through business activities that generate revenue and create employment for the growing population in the State especially youths.
Since March 2025, the ministry has been collaborating with the Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, to register all hospitality businesses in Oyo State. The ministry is also collaborating with the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) Oyo State Chapter to register all travel and tour operators in Oyo State.
Registration of hospitality businesses and tour operators will sanitise the sector, raise revenue and ensure that the ministry has oversight of those operating within the sector. It will also provide accurate data of these enterprises.
3. Second International Tourism Summit Oyo State 2024
The ministry is collaborating with the communications consultant to His Excellency and the Oyo State Government, Slvr Wlf Digitale Ltd to host the second international tourism summit in Oyo State in July 2025. The ministry hopes to consolidate on the inroads made from the first edition to get investors for the priority tourist sites.
4. Preservation of Yoruba Cultural Heritage
The ministry has been at the forefront of projecting Oyo State as the sanctuary of Yoruba cultural heritage. This is being done by collaborating with the organisers of cultural festivals within the State to provide support to make them bigger and better.
Notable cultural festivals that the ministry has supported include:
- World Sango Festival held annually in Oyo Ile: The festival commemorates Tella-Oko, the third Alaafin of Oyo. He is believed to be the incarnation of the mythical Sango, the Yoruba divinity of thunder and lightning. The festival was listed by UNESCO in 2023. The 2024 edition of the festival had over 5,000 participants from all over the world.
- World Twins Festival held annually in Igbo-Ora: The festival which celebrates multiple births has continued to improve under Omituntun 2.0. The 2024 edition had over 7,000 participants.
- Aso Ofi Festival held annually in Iseyin: The festival celebrates our indigenous Aso Ofi. The 2024 edition of this festival had over 6,000 participants. The recent directive by His Excellency that civil servants wear Aso Ofi on Thursdays is boosting the industry.
- Yemoja Festival held annually in Ibadan attracts adherents and tourists from all over the world.
- Isese Festival: Following His Excellency’s approval of Isese Day as a public holiday for traditional worshippers under Omituntun 2.0, the ministry supports adherents to celebrate Isese Festival on 20 August annually.
- Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival: The maiden edition of this week-long event was held in December 2024. It is a vibrant celebration of the rich culture, unity, and economic prosperity of Ogbomosoland and will be held annually.
- The ministry also hosted the World Egungun Festival in Ibadan in 2024. The maiden edition in 2024 had over 5,000 participants. The 2025 edition was successfully hosted on 14-15 May 2025 with Egunguns from within and outside Nigeria performing.
5. Support to Tourism Investors
The ministry has continued to provide support to tourism investors in the State through collaborations. The ministry has organised visits to private tourist sites such as the KAP Film Village in Igbojaiye and the Africhatta Film Village in Oyo Ile. The aim of these visits is to shine the spotlight on these tourist sites as part of publicity as well as to find out how the government can support the businesses to thrive.
Notably, in February 2025, the ministry collaborated with Royal Entertainment Cruise in Ibadan to host the first ever Ibadan Valentine Cruise. This gave visibility and increased traffic to the business which currently operates a boat cruise service at the Eleyele Lake, Ibadan.
The ministry also publicises events by tourism investors on its social media accounts as well as through its media unit, Akede Asa.

- Conduct of sensitisation programme on Social Protection in Oyo State.
- Facilitated the participation of Oyo State in the Fourteen Million dollars ($14,000,000.00) European Union supported Sustainable Social Protection System in Nigeria Project.
- Submission of draft bill for the Social Protection System in Oyo State to the House of Assembly.
- Presentation of year 2024 Citizens Budget to all relevant stakeholders in the State.
