We will develop the rail corridor and the Circular Road corridor in Oyo State within the four years of our tenure. | Enumeration of economic crops and valuation of properties along the Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road have begun with planning for payment of compensation. The circular road corridor is already captured in the Ibadan Master plan. |
We will embark on house numbering and street naming as part of our urban renewal and development scheme within the first year of being re-elected. | This is also ongoing and scheduled to be executed in Q4 2024. |

We will build six additional landfills in Ibadan to handle the upsurge of waste created as a result of the increase in population. | Two additional landfills are presently in focus at Igbaro in Oluyole LGA and Ijaye in Akinyele LGAs being facilitated by the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP). Also, 18 Waste Management Consultants were engaged for the collection, transportation and disposal of waste in all five zones of Oyo State. |
We will facilitate the procurement of adequate operational vehicles (such as compactors) and equipment for waste management and other logistics within the first year of being re-elected. | The process of procuring 6 waste compactors, 1 D8 excavator and 1 pay loader is near completion through IUFMP. |

We will reduce the volume of solid waste going to landfills and dumpsites through the implementation of the zero waste initiative within the first year of being re-elected. | Individuals and organisations are coming into waste recycling business. Waste segregation/sorting is being encouraged at household, commercial and industrial level. |
We will continue to ensure adequate implementation of sanctions and penalties against defaulters engaged in the indiscriminate dumping of refuse. | Actions ongoing as about 700 defaulters have been apprehended, prosecuted and sanctioned accordingly for indiscriminate dumping of refuse. |
We will continue the landscaping and beautification of public spaces. | This has commenced at Ago Taylor Road and there are plans to beautify more roads in Ibadan. |
We will continue to improve sanitation facilities by providing public toilets and hygiene facilities in schools, markets and public places and promote good hygiene habits through educational campaigns in schools, markets and other public places. | In the first year of Omituntun 2.0: Hand washing facilities were distributed by OYORUWASSA to 99 public schools across the State, 4 government MDAs, 4 media houses and 20 traditional leaders’ palaces. Members of the public were encouraged to provide toilets in their houses with the aid of Sanitation Recovery Loan facilitated by UNICEF. Sensitisation programmes were held at various areas like Hausa community in Ojoo, Bodija Market, Sabo community etc. in May 2024. |
We will create a policy framework around tariff determination and containerisation of waste in the State within the first year of being re-elected. | Policy frameworks are being developed such as one-house-one-drum initiative for effective waste storage. The initiative is operational in all 11 LGAs across Ibadan Metropolis. |
We will create a policy framework around waste sorting and recycling in Oyo State to achieve a sustainable environment within the first year of being re-elected. | Individuals and organisations are coming into waste recycling business. About 260 organisations registered for waste recycling between June 2023 and May 2024. Waste segregation/sorting is being encouraged at household, commercial and industrial level. The waste recycling facilities being operated are in Akinyele, Ido, Ibadan South West and Ibadan North West LGAs. |
We will continue to embark on afforestation and reforestation drives to mitigate the effects of climate change. | Tree planting and afforestation programs are being encouraged across the State, through sensitization and distribution of tree seedlings. In the first year of Omituntun 2.0, 50,000 trees were planted in Oyo State (20,000 trees at Gambari Reserve, Ogbomoso, 25,000 at the remaining reserves and 5,000 at individual households). |
Collaboration with institutions and organizations on the promotion of environmental sanitation across the metropolis. *NYSC Oyo State, various student bodies like Student Social Workers from University of Ibadan, Rotary Club International, Clean Up Initiative, Friends of Deji-Ola Organization etc. have collaborated with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources on various occasions for waste management and environmental sanitation.
Clearing of shanties and illegal structures along public schools’ fences. About 150 schools’ fences were cleared of shanties to create a conducive learning environment for students.
