How are you doing?

What an action-packed last two weeks it has been. The political space has been brimming with activity and as they say, 24 hours is a long time in politics.

At the same time, the economic realities many Nigerians are dealing with remain a constant reminder that political decisions have real consequences. As promised, I will continue to work to ensure that our people are better able to navigate these challenges.

So, although it might appear that politics has taken centre stage, governance has not taken a back seat.

May is workers’ month and in keeping with our promise, we are on track to clear all outstanding pensions and gratuities by the end of our tenure next year and hand over a clean slate to the next administration. I thank our retirees for their patience as we worked towards clearing the backlog inherited as well as paying those who retired during our administration.

On the tourism front, we recently signed a concession agreement with an investor for the development and upgrade of Bower’s Tower. We will rehabilitate the roads around this landmark to create an enabling environment for the site to truly thrive. We are also looking forward to the International Tourism Summit Oyo State 2026 taking place 12-14 May 2026. Register to be part of it here.

On agribusiness, we have welcomed three new agribusinesses into our State in the past few weeks. These investments will strengthen our dairy, soybean, and cassava value chains. Our decision to rehabilitate the Fasola Livestock Settlement has been yielding results, and we remain committed to building the kind of industrial hubs that allow the private sector to grow.

So, when we talk about Omituntun 3.0 and continuity, it is not theory. It is something you can see.

Let me also thank you for the overwhelming support you keep giving our decisions – I have read your reactions to people who are floating religious agenda for 2027, your answers have been clear and unequivocal: competence over religion.

You can rest assured that as we suggest who continues after me: competence and commitment to the future of Oyo State will remain front and centre of all discussions.

On the national stage, we must not lose sight of what truly matters. Whether a government is unpopular or not, a functioning democracy requires a strong and credible opposition. We cannot afford to drift into a one-party system. That is what dictates all the current efforts to reclaim the PDP and restore its independence.

We have come too far to lose our way now, and we will not.

Talk to you again soon
