Being the remarks by His Excellency Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, at the Commissioning of Road Projects in Jimeta, Yola North LGA of Adamawa State.
I bring you greetings from the good people of Oyo State.
I want to especially thank my brother, Governor Umaru Fintiri for the opportunity to visit Adamawa State. Driving from the airport, I saw the 8 lanes highway and the overhead bridge being constructed all nearing completion. I also saw an underpass and another overhead bridge being built. From the look of things, we may not recognize Yola again very soon.
From what I have observed, His Excellency has been working hard for the people of Adamawa State. In the PDP we always say that our governors mean business. We believe in infrastructure and development. Those that can’t keep up with our work rates often end up going over to the other side where all they do is offer excuses and shed tears. And we know they will shed more tears in 2023.
So, I am happy to be here with you today for the commissioning of these road projects in Jimeta, Yola North LGA of Adamawa State. The projects are:
Weekly Scope Road
Mustapha Ismail Extension
CSC Road
And these inner streets:
Lekki Taba Street
Dougeri Lane
Approximately 15km kilometres in total.
When we commission projects, it is evident that government is working and the people are enjoying the benefits of good governance.
So, let me congratulate the people of Adamawa State for making the right choice. People who make the right choice when it is time to elect leaders always reap the benefits of good governance. This is why it is important that we pay attention to two things when it is time to elect our leaders.

- The candidate
I have heard people say that all parties are the same. But tell them to compare the prosperity under 16 years of PDP to what they have now. The difference is clear.
Secondly, the antecedents of the candidate are very important. For example, my brother here is a graduate of history, policy and strategic studies. Not only that he excelled in the private sector for many years. We can see the result when we pick people who have shown that they know what they doing before they come into politics.
So, as we begin to make decisions for 2023, let us choose the party that stands for prosperity and not the one that preaches poverty.
As I said before, the people of Adamawa State made the right choice in choosing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to lead them. Back in Oyo State, the people are also happy because we are delivering on our promise of good governance. Those who are not enjoying good governance should check where they made the wrong decision.
On that note, I want to declare these road projects commissioned to the glory of God and for the benefit of the people of Adamawa State.
